Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BooCoo mobile application ("BooCoo," "the app," or "the Service") developed and operated by Make Greater LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Wisconsin limited liability company. By downloading, installing, or using BooCoo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use BooCoo. By using the app, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Description of Service

BooCoo is a personal finance application that allows you to:

  • Connect financial institution accounts via Plaid to view balances and transactions
  • Connect Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Apple Savings via Apple FinanceKit
  • Manually track assets, debts, accounts, and transactions
  • View net worth, spending trends, and financial visualizations
  • Sync your financial data across your personal devices via iCloud

3. Account Registration and Security

To use certain features of BooCoo (such as connecting financial institutions via Plaid), your device is registered with our backend service using an app-generated device identifier. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your device and any authentication methods (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID) used to access BooCoo
  • All activity that occurs through BooCoo on your device
  • Notifying us promptly if you believe your account or device has been compromised

4. Subscription Terms

4.1 Free and Paid Features

BooCoo may offer both free and paid subscription tiers. Specific features available under each tier are described within the app.

4.2 Billing and Renewal

Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to Apple's terms for in-app purchases and subscriptions. Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.

4.3 Refunds

Refunds for subscriptions are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Price changes will not affect your current billing period. Apple will notify you of price changes in accordance with App Store policies, and you will have the opportunity to accept or cancel before being charged at the new price.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when connecting financial accounts
  • Use BooCoo only for lawful, personal financial management purposes
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Not use BooCoo to engage in any fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Not attempt to access our servers or systems beyond what is necessary for normal app functionality
  • Not interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

6. Financial Information Disclaimer

BooCoo is not a financial advisor, investment advisor, tax advisor, or financial planner. All information provided by BooCoo — including but not limited to net worth calculations, spending trends, financial projections, burn rate estimates, vitals scores, and any other analysis or visualization — is for informational and educational purposes only.

Nothing in BooCoo constitutes:

  • Financial, investment, tax, or legal advice
  • A recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or financial product
  • A solicitation of any transaction
  • An offer to provide financial planning or advisory services

You should consult qualified financial, tax, and legal professionals before making any financial decisions. We are not responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information displayed in BooCoo.

7. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

While we strive to display accurate financial data, BooCoo relies on third-party data sources (including Plaid and Apple FinanceKit) and user-entered data. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any financial data displayed in the app. Specifically:

  • Account balances and transactions are retrieved from your financial institutions via Plaid and may be delayed or incomplete
  • Transaction categorization is provided by Plaid and may not always be accurate
  • Projections, trend analyses, and scoring are mathematical calculations based on available data and should not be relied upon as predictions of future financial performance
  • Net worth figures are estimates based on the accounts and assets you have connected or entered — they may not reflect your complete financial picture

You should always verify financial information directly with your financial institutions.

8. AI-Powered Features

BooCoo includes AI-powered features — Insights and Ask BooCoo — that generate observations about your spending patterns. These features are powered by Anthropic's Claude API.

AI features are not financial advice. Insights and Ask BooCoo responses are generated observations based on your data, not financial recommendations. They do not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. The same disclaimers in Section 6 (Financial Information Disclaimer) apply fully to all AI-generated content.

To provide these features, an aggregated summary of your financial data is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. This summary contains category-level totals and scores — not individual transactions, merchant names, or account numbers. For full details on what data is shared, see our Privacy Policy.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. It is generated from the financial data available at the time of the request and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any financial decision. Anthropic's use of data processed through its API is governed by Anthropic's Terms of Service.

9. Intellectual Property

BooCoo, including its design, code, features, graphics, and content, is the property of Make Greater LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use BooCoo for your personal, non-commercial financial management purposes, subject to these Terms.

Your financial data remains your property. We claim no ownership over the financial data you connect, import, or enter into BooCoo.

10. Third-Party Services

BooCoo integrates with third-party services including Plaid, Apple iCloud, Apple FinanceKit, and Amazon Web Services. Your use of these services is also subject to their respective terms and policies:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service. If a third-party service becomes unavailable or changes its terms, certain BooCoo features may be affected.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

BooCoo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Make Greater LLC disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components
  • Data displayed will be accurate, complete, or current
  • The app will meet your specific requirements
  • Any defects will be corrected

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Make Greater LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or financial opportunity
  • Financial losses arising from reliance on data or analysis displayed in the app
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your data
  • Damages resulting from interruption or cessation of the Service
  • Damages resulting from errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in financial data from third-party sources

In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars ($50.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Make Greater LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your use of BooCoo
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Any financial decisions you make based on information displayed in the app

14. Dispute Resolution and Binding Arbitration

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT AND TO HAVE A JURY HEAR YOUR CLAIMS.

14.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

14.2 Binding Arbitration

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted in the English language and held in Wisconsin or, at your election, conducted online or by telephone.

The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any arbitration or legal proceeding shall be conducted only on an individual basis, and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Make Greater LLC. If this class action waiver is found to be unenforceable, then the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be null and void.

14.4 Exceptions

Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdictional limits. Either party may also seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights.

14.5 Opt-Out Right

You may opt out of this arbitration provision by sending written notice to [email protected] within 30 days of first using BooCoo. Your notice must include your name, mailing address, and a statement that you wish to opt out of the arbitration provision. If you opt out, you and Make Greater LLC may pursue claims against each other in court.

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may stop using BooCoo at any time. To fully terminate your relationship with us: (1) use the "Delete My Data" option in Settings to erase all data from your device, iCloud, and our servers, then (2) delete the app from your device. If you are unable to use the in-app option, you may request deletion by emailing [email protected] with your Device ID (found in Settings > About).

15.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to BooCoo at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance of any discontinuation.

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use BooCoo ceases. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 6 (Financial Disclaimer), 7 (Data Accuracy), 8 (AI-Powered Features), 11 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 12 (Limitation of Liability), 13 (Indemnification), 14 (Dispute Resolution), and 15.3 (Effect of Termination).

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. To the extent that litigation is permitted under these Terms, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Wisconsin.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Make Greater LLC regarding your use of BooCoo, and supersede any prior agreements.

19. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practicable, notify you through the app. Your continued use of BooCoo after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you should discontinue use of the app.
