BooCoo has no budgets. Every category shows its trend instead: whether you're climbing, holding, or slipping, measured against your own history. Here is how to read one.
The Categories tab
Every category is sized by what it takes from you. Bigger block, more money. There is no limit on any of them and no colour that means you did something wrong. Tap any category to open its trend.
The chip and the chart
At the top of the detail, a chip says which way the category is moving in plain words. Below it, a bar for every month behind that word. Tap any month to see its figure; Back to Now returns you to the present.
How recent compares to typical
This is the trend itself. The last three months are compared to your own twelve, and to longer windows as your history grows. Each row says whether recent spending is above, matching, or below your typical, and by how much. The comparison is always to you. Never to an average household, and never to a target.
Every category, one line each
Below the map, every category is listed with its typical amount, a small sparkline, and its direction in words: higher lately, lower lately, or holding steady. Income has its own row, read the same way.
Tap a month
Tap any bar on the chart and the transactions for that month appear under it, so the number is never more than one tap from its receipt. Categories with sub-categories also show a Breakdown of what is inside the total.
What counts as spending
Card payments and transfers between your own accounts are not counted as spending. A card purchase is counted when you make it, not when you pay the bill. So the trend reads what you actually spent, once.
Where your data lives
Your financial data lives on your device and in your iCloud. Not ours. BooCoo cannot identify you: no email, no name, no login. We make money from subscriptions. There is nothing else to sell.
Common questions
Why is there no target line on the chart?
Because there is no target. A trend tells you where you are against your own history. That is the whole reading, and you cannot fail it.
Why does a new category say it needs more history?
Three months is the shortest window BooCoo will compare. The comparisons fill in on their own as transactions arrive.
Can I switch to weekly?
Yes. The period switcher on the Categories tab and in each detail reads the same trend in weeks instead of months.
